Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) works alongside local churches and communities in more than 50 countries, including Canada and the United States, to carry out disaster relief, sustainable community development and justice and peace-building work in the name of Christ. MCC also seeks to build bridges to connect people and ideas across cultural, political and economic divides. Mennonite Mission Network (MMN) , the mission agency of Mennonite Church USA, supports ministries in more than 50 countries. Mennonite Mission Network exists to lead, mobilize and equip the church to participate in holistic witness to Jesus Christ in a broken world. MMN envision every congregation and all parts of the church being fully engaged in mission - across the street, all through the marketplaces and around the world.

Photo by Lois Hochstetler Wayne and Lois Hochstetler are members of Mennonite Church of Normal commissioned for international service as worker care specialists for Mennonite Mission Network, based in London. From this geographic hub they travel to mission fields to encourage farflung workers, offering counseling, help with adjustments and listening ears. Through travel, and technology like inexpensive, Internet-based phone calls, they augment the worker support that exists at MMN's US-based offices—support that helps keep workers healthy enough to do God’s work in the world. Mennonite Education Agency (MEA) has a mission of strengthening the life, witness and identity of Mennonite Church USA through education. MEA’s mandate is to facilitate all levels of education for Mennonite Church USA – early childhood and preschool programs; elementary and secondary schools; colleges and universities; seminaries and graduate programs; and lifelong learning opportunities. Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) offers an organized, nonviolent alternative to war and other forms of lethal inter-group conflict. CPT provides organizational support to persons committed to faith-based nonviolent alternatives in situations where lethal conflict is an immediate reality or is supported by public policy. CPT seeks to enlist the response of the whole church in conscientious objection to war, and in the development of nonviolent institutions, skills and training for intervention in conflict situations.

Mennonite Disaster Service is a volunteer network through which various constituencies of the Anabaptist church can respond to those affected by disasters in Canada and the United States. While the main focus of MDS is on clean up, repair and rebuilding homes, this activity becomes a means of touching lives and helping people regain faith and wholeness. News Story: B-N church group taking 10th Gulf Coast service mission [Pantagraph.com] Menno Media provides materials that equip the church to experience and share the gospel of Jesus Christ from an Anabaptist perspective. We do this by creating materials on peace and justice, peacemaking, service, community, conflict resolution, simple living and simplicity, discipleship, worship, mission and more. We also offer a large selection of Christian education materials for Sunday school and small groups (children, youth and adults) in both English and Spanish. |
